How to Partition Windows

When you get a new hard drive and install it to your computer, you are not allowed to use it directly. You need to initialize it by using Windows snap-in Disk Management first, and then partition it. Till this moment, the partitions in the hard drive will be displayed on your computer. So you must want to know how to partition Windows?

In general, you know Disk Management. But you may don’t know the limitation in it. For example, in a basic disk, you can only extend primary partition if there is adjacent unallocated space right behind the target partition, or extend logical partition if there is adjacent free space right behind it. Otherwise, the basic disk will be converted into dynamic disk.

These limitations will prevent you to make full use of your hard drive. Then, a third-party Windows partition manager is necessary for you. Among all good and bad partition software, MiniTool Partition Wizard is really a good choice. The following introduction will let you know more about its partition functions
